Waxing FAQ

ETIQUETTE

Please ensure that you arrive for your waxing fresh and clean. I will provide you with wet wipes but a certain level of prior personal hygiene is expected. For intimate waxing you will need to be naked from the waist down but your dignity will be preserved at all times. This is a professional waxing service, nothing else. Please don't humiliate yourself or offend me by asking for anything inappropriate.

HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE?

The hair needs to be a minimum of 5mm long. If your hair is au naturel I will trim it down as the treatment is more painful if the hair is too long. Please don't trim it yourself because if you trim it a little too short I may not be able to remove all the hair!

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

Most people won't see much regrowth during the first couple of weeks. After that you'll see a noticeable growth spurt. Over a period of months and years continued waxing will result in slower and sparser regrowth.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE WAXED?

The choice is yours! To keep that lovely smooth feeling I recommend every 4 weeks or so, for the first 4 appointments, especially if you've shaved in the past. By then will be able to gauge the optimum frequency.

WHY SHOULD I GET WAXED?

Most people tell me they prefer the absolute smoothness from waxing over the stubbliness of shaving. Lots of people from all walks of life get waxed, and offer all manner of reasons.

IS THIS GOING TO HURT?

You will, no doubt, have heard all the horror stories about waxing. This is not the most relaxing of treatments, and if you are a virgin waxee I would suggest that you start with a basic "bikini" wax so that you get used to the experience. The discomfort you will feel is like having a rubber band twanged against your skin; it's over in a few seconds. I use only Perron Rigot wax which is the best there is, and I have been trained by the best in the country, Andy Rouillard.

AFTERCARE

You will be given comprehensive written aftercare advice at the time of your treatment. You are advised to keep out of the sun, avoid hot showers or baths, steam rooms or saunas for 24 hours. I also advise you to exfoliate gently 2 or 3 days after the treatment and to moisturise the waxed area to reduce the risk of ingrown hair. I can supply you with products and lotions for this.
